Megan Veenstra

Hiya – I’m Megan and I grew up in Douglas Park, Wollondilly Shire and studied podiatry at the University of Western Sydney. I’ve been working at Freeman Podiatry in Wollongong since 2008 after completing a university placement with the team. I chose podiatry after initially starting a degree in Psychology but discovered that wasn’t for me but knew I wanted to stay in the field of health.

Over the last 10 years I’ve gained experience in all areas of podiatry working both here in Australia and in London. Working in different locations across the globe, I feel like I’ve picked up so many quirks and techniques from so many talented podiatrists, physio’s and surgeons I’ve worked with. My time in London really honed my interest in Dermatology and the array of treatments the for the problematic plantar wart! I’ve been able to bring that knowledge back home now and am delighted to be working with the newest and cutting-edge microwave technology machine SWIFT here at Freeman Podiatry. I have a special interest in wound management, nail surgery, diabetes and the high-risk foot – all things skin and nail.

I love working with people whilst having a chat (usually about travels, wine and good food) and get such a kick out of helping people – there’s not many jobs where someone can literally limp into your place of work and ‘float” out pain free (their words, not mine!)
